March 2026 President's Message April 21, 2026 Leadership, RCMA, RCMA/CMA President's Message, RCMA 0 Dear Colleagues, After 45 years of extraordinary service, Dolores Green will retire as CEO on December 31, 2026. Dolores has helped shape RCMA into the powerhouse of organized medicine in Riverside County that it is today and while we are saddened to see her step away, we are deeply grateful for her lasting impact. I am pleased to share that Evelyn Garcia, MHA, will transition from COO to CEO effective January 1, 2027. As an integral member of our leadership team, Evelyn understands our mission, culture, and physician community, and we are confident RCMA will continue to thrive under her guidance. I, along with RCMA Executive Leaders and Legislative Committee, recently attended the AMA National Advocacy Conference in Washington, D.C., meeting directly with California’s congressional offices, including Congressman Dr. Raul Ruiz, Congressman Mark Takano, Congressman Ken Calvert, Rep. Norma Torres, and Rep. Darrell Issa. We delivered a clear message: reform Medi-Cal physician payment, fix harmful prior authorization delays, and protect Medicaid access. Riverside County physicians were heard. The California Medical Association has also announced a call for nominations for the CMA Delegation to the AMA. Physicians passionate about advocacy are encouraged to consider serving to ensure our region continues shaping national policy. Locally, we have some exciting events coming up. The 3rd Annual Healthcare AI Conference on April 10th brings national and regional leaders to Riverside County to explore how AI is reshaping medicine. Featuring keynote speaker Hector Rodriguez of Amazon Web Services and an exceptional panel of physician innovators, this is a must-attend event for physicians navigating the future of clinical practice and patient care.
