RCMA Plastic Surgeon Named New President of California Plastic Surgery Society

Robert A. Hardesty, MD, FACS, former Chief of Plastic Surgery at Loma Linda Medical Center and Medical Director of Imagine Plastic Surgery in Riverside, was named President of the California Society of Plastic Surgeons this past weekend at their annual meeting in San Francisco. Dr. Hardesty will oversee the largest state plastic surgery organization of board certified plastic surgeons in the United States.

Public Health Alert: Routine HIV Screening

Did you know that Riverside County has the fifth highest number of HIV cases and sixth highest number of AIDS cases of any county in California? As of December 2011 there were 4,743 reported cases of HIV or AIDS in Riverside County. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also estimates that nearly 1 in 5 people with HIV do not even know that they are infected. For Riverside County this means nearly 1,266 HIV infected individuals are unaware that they are infected, do not receive life extending medical care and can pass the virus on to others.

Riverside Community Hospital Holds Ground breaking Ceremony for New $315 Million Major Expansion Project

Plans for the new major $315 million expansion project finally came to fruition for Riverside Community Hospital when over 300 individuals including hospital administrators and board members, local and state officials, community representatives, local business owners and Chamber members celebrated the official ground breaking Friday, March 1, 2013.
