Evolving Healthcare Leadership

Before you are a Leader, success is all about growing oneself.
When you become a leader, success is all about growing others
.
-Jack Welch

This unique 6-month interactive experiential program consisting of two weekend workshops and four virtual 90-minute evening learning sessions has been carefully designed to accomplish two specific goals: improving professional leadership skillsets; and inspiring/nurturing new leaders.

Evolving Healthcare Leadership (EHL) is not a lecture series. Built on a comprehensive outcomes-based strategy, our program focuses on the evolution of a leadership team in both content and achievement.

Beginning with an emphasis on what we need to know in order to succeed as leaders, this program fills in the typical void of traditional medical education. With a focus on what we are doing right (rather than what’s not working), our educational process is structured to positively transition the physician from the role of practitioner to innovator, thus empowering the doctor to systematically and collaboratively understand, assess and design team-based iterative solutions that support Quadruple Aim objectives.

Our Evolving Healthcare Leadership program can be presented as an exclusive program specifically for a single medical group; or three separate medical groups can form a cohort to learn together. The program is limited to 15 physicians/executives in each class.

Participants are physicians and executives with direct leadership responsibilities or future physician leaders.

Each team (medical group) will select up to 3 prioritized projects and will progressively advance their projects as well as report progress/receive feedback during each of four remote monthly sessions. A prioritized organizational commitment is essential for advancing operational excellence on multiple levels.

In sharp contrast to typical training programs that generate initial excitement that rapidly fades, our first weekend session is designed exclusively to provide a solid foundation of knowledge and inspiration upon which the next four monthly evening leadership project-based sessions are conducted.

Our primary contention is that leadership training based on lectures alone is clearly short-sighted. Our unique strategy is to work with you to formulate a series of organizational goals that require team-based leadership, input and oversight. We believe that close observation, guidance and mentoring are essential as each subsequent monthly session focuses on optimizing project plans, ensuring both progress and momentum, and building leadership acumen in a constructive on-the-job manner. The final session serves to constructively review progress and showcase results.
